Category: Sarah’s Bucket List

Dreaming keeps us alive!

Some dreams we focus on, they keep us going and awaken the drive inside of our hearts and minds. I’ve got a couple of those.

Then I got some smaller ones. I nurture them and smile when a visual comes up to help me feed them and keep them alive.

On a hike, a couple of weeks back, I ran into this beautiful horse pasture. One of my many dreams is to own and enjoy horses. I don’t know the first thing about them, just that I truly enjoy riding and they are therapy for the soul.

It doesn’t matter, when the time comes, I am sure a teacher will appear, the horses will be the right ones for our family and we are headed to many adventures on horse back.

Building dreams doesn’t have to be all work, we should enjoy the love notes from heaven that help us to keep dreaming!

Look for them and you will find them in the most unexpected places.

What Now?

Soooo, I’ve been missing in action for a little bit.

I aaaammmm baaack!

A lot has happened in my life this past year. I got a job, we moved, I enjoyed hiking, we went on vacation, and now I found myself a friend that is a trainer and he is going to help me out!

I am sooooooooo excited!

He came over today and tested my metabolism, on Monday or Tuesday we are going to the gym so he can create a program for me to do the exercises. I came up with a goal and here we go!

Meal plans, exercise schedule, reporting back on his website, and progress in sight!

I have a dream. There are many steps to get there, and I am bound and determined to make it, so you know, I am a tenacious soul. This spring I am going to run my first 5k, then a 10k, then a half marathon and keep on training so I can eventually do an Iron Man. This is way out of my comfort zone. This is way bigger than my fitness right now. However, day by day, hour by hour, I can do this. I am going to do this.

This post is like me committing to myself and whoever reads it that I am going to do what it takes to get there. This post also dates my beginning of the journey to fitness.

I will be posting regularly on my progress.

Pictures to come!

We took the two older girls with us on a Mediterranean Cruise. Rome was one of the stops. We had 10 hours there.

If you been to Rome, you know that 10 hours is not near enough to see all that there is to see!

Pictures do no justice, you have to walk the land and see the history. Our guide was amazing. He turned to our kids and said, “when you are in class learning about this ancient history, you can say that you actually touched these monuments.” And he loved to tell the facts of every place we went, it was his passion!

I want to go back and spend days there. There is so much to see and take in.

So, yeah…my bucket list includes to go to Italy, with plenty of time, enjoy the view and learn more about the ancient history it holds.

Kurt and I were able to take our 2 oldest girls with us on an European cruise. Malta was the last stop before we headed back. It is a BEAUTIFUL place! The ocean is sooooo clear, the buildings are old and hold so much history. I had never heard of it before until this trip. A day is way too short to be there. Yup, Malta is on my bucket list to go back to.

Have I told you that I am a mutt? I am Brazilian by birth, was raised there and moved to the U.S. when I was 17. My mom’s grandpa was German and her mom’s grandma had some Brazilian Indian in her. I am the only child and would like to go with my dad to Korea. So I could see where he is from. Personally I have very little of Korean influence in my life. My mom did most of my raising, I like Korean food and I love Eastern medicine, acupuncture, herbs, medicinal teas, understanding of how the energy works in the body. The Orient is so far ahead in the understanding of the human body. It fascinates me. Natural healing is awesome! So, yeah, Korea is on my bucket list! I

IMAG0640-1This was the view from our room. Yup, can I say paradise?!

Kurt and I went there in 1997 for a week. We stayed at the Hyatt and it was heavenly!

Tropical fruits and juices, seafood, all the sun we could handle, beach life, beautiful places to see and my hubby with me. I had a fantastic time!

I highly recommend Kawaii if you haven’t been. A friend of mine says it’s God’s backyard, I have to agree with him wholeheartedly!

The hotel had a ‘beach pool’ because it was dangerous to go swimming at the beach by the hotel. It was awesome!

I love horses, we got to ride horses on the beach! It was fantastic!

IMAG0639-1 This is from our trail on horseback.

There was a beautiful tree tunnel that we drove through. Snorkeling was awesome, we swam with sea turtles. The zodiac ride we went on was absolutely amazing, we got to go into a cave and to see beautiful views in our ride.

I have to say, Kawaii is one of my favorite places on the planet.

What is yours?

So I was looking for pics of the North of Brazil and I came across this blog…oh my…it made me dream with my eyes wide open!

Ponta do Mutá

Kurt says that a symbol of vacation and relaxation is to see palm trees…well honey, here we go!

I have read from friends, seen pictures of their vacation and have wanted to go there. The fruits, the food, the place, the weather, the people, the sand….the ocean….aaaaaahhhhhh

So, North of Brazil, you are officially on my bucket list!

One of these days I am coming to enjoy a vacation at the beach!

One of the many beautiful sunsets I get to enjoy in Utah.

I just read in someone’s blog, “If you could make someone’s bucket list dreams a reality, would you?” and the answer is yes!

Then it got me thinking, do I have a bucket list?????? Well, I haven’t sat down and put serious thought into it. Ideas on my journal, thoughts of places to go, I just haven’t committed myself to it.

I guess here is as good of a place as any to start. What are some of the things I really want to do with my life, places I really want to see and things I want to learn?

Lets see…

I grew up in Sao Paulo), Brazil until I was 17 ( we had a beach apartment and that is where we vacationed to, I didn’t get to travel much down there, I got to Rio and that is as far as I went, moved to Utah (the mountains here are absolutely beautiful).

I was blessed to be able to travel to:

Acapulco, Mexico;

Puerto Rico;

Kawaii (I think that is one of God’s favorite backyards) and Oahu, Hawaii;

Lake Powell (another backyard that He visits often) Utah;P1050267

Western Caribbean Cruise, we went to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Key West and Cozumel (being a beach bum at heart, the beach I went to in Cozumel was fantastic! I could see my toes and I was in the water up to my neck);cruise

Alaskan Cruise and I can’t name all the cities we saw, however I can tell you, on that cruise you can see how majestic God’s creations are;

European Cruise, got to see Barcelona, Spain; skipped France, due to weather;  in Italy we got to see Pizza, Rome (you need days in Rome, 10 hours is way too short), Pompeii and another place where they make the cameos, I think it was Torre Del Greco then we got to go to Malta, one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been;

Texas, which has the most beautiful and breath-taking sunsets in the planet;

Washington state is so green, it is absolutely gorgeous!

Yup, that is it. I love love love to travel!

Soooooo….here we go!

Blogging is so much fun! I can type it up and post what is in my mind and heart!
